Fiona has spent her whole career communicating about food and nutrition, so there’s not much she doesn’t know about getting a complex message across to stakeholders.
She started out as a dietitian, having qualified with a BSc (Hons) in human nutrition, before moving to the Meat and Livestock Commission in the late 1990s, where she worked as a marketing nutritionist. But it wasn’t long until she was flying off to New Zealand, joining Beef + Lamb New Zealand to lead the nutrition communications activities promoting beef and lamb to consumers, as well as supporting on-farm programmes with Kiwi livestock farmers. Her expertise in this area saw her appointed as the Chair of the International Meat Secretariat Human Nutrition and Health Committee from 2005 until 2010.
Fiona returned to the UK in 2016 and has worked in agricultural comms ever since. She thrives on using the combination of her scientific background and expertise in communications, to help Twig’s clients make robust science accessible through marketing and PR activity to positively influence stakeholders.
And, when she’s not working, Fiona is often seen running or cycling around west Wiltshire, having developed a passion for off-road running in the mountains of southern New Zealand.
We’re pleased to announce a fresh new look and name. The next few years will see transformational change in agriculture.
