Phileo UK & Ireland

Delivering the Equine Gut Microbiome Conference – and turning it into lasting industry content.

Putting Phileo at the centre of the equine gut health conversation.

In November 2025, Phileo UK & Ireland brought together leading academics, equine nutritionists, veterinarians and feed industry representatives for their Equine Gut Microbiome Conference.

The event created a platform to share the latest research on equine gut health while showcasing Phileo’s growing expertise in microbiome science to the wider industry.

Twig supported the planning, promotion and delivery of the conference, ensuring the science was matched by clear communications, strong branding and a professional delegate experience. Crucially, we also captured a bank of high-quality content to help the conversations continue long after the day itself.

The challenge

This was Phileo’s first major event focused on the equine sector. With respected international researchers, customers and industry figures attending, the conference needed to strike the right balance between scientific depth and professional delivery.

The content had to stand up to expert scrutiny. At the same time, the event needed to showcase Phileo as a confident and forward-thinking partner within the equine nutrition space.

That meant every detail mattered – from invitations and delegate communications through to the way the brand was presented on the day.

Our approach

Twig worked alongside the Phileo team to provide end-to-end event communications and delivery support, helping to ensure the conference ran smoothly and delivered maximum value for both delegates and the client.

Our work included:

  • Event promotion and registration - Designing invitations, managing email communications and coordinating the full event promotion and delegate registration process.
  • Media and communications support - Inviting industry media and helping ensure the event’s key messages reached the wider equine sector.
  • Branding and event materials - Developing presentation templates, signage, banners and delegate welcome packs to create a consistent and professional event environment.
  • Technical coordination - Working with the event A/V team to manage presentations and keep the conference programme running smoothly.
  • On-site event support - Covering presentations live on Facebook, overseeing event branding and ensuring content was captured for future communications.

The outcome

The conference brought together a highly engaged audience from both academia and the commercial equine sector, creating space for meaningful discussion around microbiome research and equine health.

Twig’s support ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish, allowing Phileo’s technical team to focus on presenting their research and building relationships with delegates.

Importantly, the event also generated a strong bank of high-quality communications content. Twig captured photography and created a promotional video, plus a series of short delegate reaction clips, helping to extend the life of the conference.

The event video offers a snapshot of the day and the conversations it sparked. Alongside this, short video interviews with delegates captured immediate reactions and insights from attendees and presenters.

The impact

The Equine Gut Microbiome Conference strengthened Phileo’s relationships with key stakeholders across Europe and helped establish the company’s presence in the equine market.

The content captured during the event now forms part of Phileo’s ongoing communications. The highlight video and delegate reaction clips will be shared across the company’s social channels and embedded on its website, helping to amplify key messages and maintain engagement long after the event itself.

By combining strategic communications with careful event planning and on-the-ground delivery, Twig helped turn a technical conference into a platform for industry engagement, knowledge exchange and long-term brand building.

Because when complex science needs to reach the right audience, great communication doesn’t stop when the event ends — it keeps the conversation moving.

"The Equine Gut Microbiome Conference was an important opportunity for us to bring together leading researchers and industry experts to share the latest thinking on equine gut health. Twig played a key role in helping us deliver a professional and well-organised event, from managing the logistics on the day to capturing valuable content that we can continue to share with the industry. The video and delegate insights will help us keep the conversation going long after the conference itself."
